Yunzhi All Carved Solid Ribbon-Stripe Mahogany 16" Archtop W/ Dearmond 1100 Rhythm Chief
This is a very unusual, finely-made, great sounding and easy-playing 16" YUNZHI archtop guitar. Flame maple binding throughout. Obviously based on an Eastman Pisano. The Yunzhi luthiers have a background connection somehow with Eastman Guitars although I do not know the particulars of the backstory.
I have installed a single coil DeArmond 1100 for sweet vintage tone.
There is a very stable wood check/crack (hasn't changed in 10 years) as shown (last 2 photos) which has been filled with cyanoacrylate glue and leveled somewhat and buffed so you don't see the crack from an oblique angle, only from straight-on. A new owner could do more wet-sanding and buffing to get the spot totally level with the surrounding area if desired.
In overall really good shape, this guitar with it's ribbon striped mahogany is absolutely striking and is one of the prettiest archtops to come through my store.
