1930s Bacon & Day Sultana I Orchestra 18" Archtop Vintage Extremely Rare
This extraordinary bit of musical history is a Regal-made BACON & DAY SULTANA I. This very rare and wonderful behemoth has a huge bold voice and plays so well, having just had an ultra clean pro neck reset in the last 6 months.
I LOVE this guitar and it makes a huge splash when I take it out. It commands one's attention visually and sonically.
If you do the chunka-chunk early jazz thing this is ground-zero.
One Big-Fat-Fun guitar.
Top is solid carved spruce and back/sides I am guessing are laminated mahogany although I could be wrong, may be solid.
Fretboard is Brazilian rosewood I believe and the head plate maybe as well.
Nut = 1-25/32" (i.e. a skosh over 1-3/4") Very comfortable to play
Upper bout = 12-3/4"
Lower bout = 18-3/16"
String spacing =2-1/8"
Body depth = 4"
weight = 6.5 lbs
Has about .026" of relief in the neck at the 6-7th fret.
W original case.
Arrange an appointment to come play this very special guitar.
